Woohoo!  It’s almost the weekend, and welcome to another edition of High Five Friday.  I’m finally settling into my routine, and it’s feeling great to get back into the swing of things.  There’s lots to be thankful for, so let’s get started.

Below are my five things:

{P.S. When the eff did it become August??  This summer has flown by way too fast}

Dat Gym Lyfe

As you could have probably guessed, I’m thrilled to have my gym back.  It’s almost embarrassing how sore I am right now, but you gotta start somewhere!

Wednesdays and Sundays

With my new schedule, my current days off are Wednesdays and Sundays {subject to change based on market needs}.  I value them each for their own reasons.  Wednesdays more so because it’s kind of a “me” day, as selfish as that may sound {we all need one}.  With work I have to be plugged in and on point 24/7, and it can get exhausting.  On Wednesdays, everyone else has to work, so I can take this time to get my own errands done, relax, take Bodypump, cook a little bit…you know, whatever!  Then in the evening, I go on the NODA Brewery Run with my brother and hang out for the rest of the night.  This coming Sunday will be my first Sunday off, but I know I’m going to love it.  Sunday’s have always been so relaxing and honestly, I’ve always hated working them.  Needless to say, I’m looking forward to it.

This Book

My mom reccomended Wild to me awhile ago {we share nook accounts…aww}, and I’m just now getting around to reading it.  I’m only on page 71, but I can already tell that it’s a must read.  I have a little under 300 pages to go, and she’s already discussed so much, I can’t even imagine what the rest of the book has in store.  As a quick recap, this is a personal account of a woman who’s life ended up in shambels for a variety of reasons, and as an attempt to find herself again, she decides to hike the Pacific Crest Trail alone.  Little by little you learn about her past throughout the book, which is juxtaposed to her experience on the trail.  It’s quite interesting.

I’ll let you know when I finish it, but like I said, I already reccomend it.

SO Delicious Coconut Creamer

Liz introduced me to this creamer when I visited her the other weekend in Chicago, and I fell in love.  While I try to eat mostly Paleo, bottom line I focus on cutting out dairy.  I’m not diagnosed lactose intolerant, but I think it negatively affects me in more ways than one, including making me break-out.  I’ve always had problems with acne, and over the past few months I’ve focused on keeping it out of my diet.  Since I made that decision, it’s unreal to me how few, if any, breakouts I’ve had.

But I also love coffee…and NOT black coffee…and coffee creamers have dairy in them, so what do I do??  Since making the decision to cut out dairy, I’ve been using almond milk and Starbucks flavored syrup in my coffee, and it’s sufficed as a subsitituion, but I wasn’t in love with it.  Then I met So Delicious Coconut Milk Creamer.  Liz said that she bought her’s at Whole Foods, and I randomly found these at Harris Teeter.  I obviously bought two and never looked back.  Their website has an awesome store locator, where you just type in your zip and it tells you where to find their products.  Click here for that locator.

Meeting new people

I know I talked about this on the last HFF, but now I’ve officially met my new team and they’re awesome.  I’m still pretty close to my training buddies, so it’s a perfect mix of the two.  Everyone has something special about them, so it’s always exciting to me when I get to meet new people and learn from/about them.

Alright, off to work I go!  See ya’ll later on…

High five, it’s Friday!  What things are you guys grateful for this week?
